DAVIE, Fla. -- Brian Griese is expected to start at quarterback Sunday night for the Miami Dolphins, with Jay Fiedler available as the backup, against the Washington Redskins, sources tell ESPN and The Associated Press.

Fiedler, who rejoined team drills this week, has been sidelined since spraining his left knee Oct. 19. The Dolphins are 2-2 with Griese as the starter.

The two have alternated snaps in practice this week. Coach Dave Wannstedt made up his mind on the starter earlier in the week, but did not reveal his decision.

Wannstedt says there's a good chance receiver Oronde Gadsden will play.

Gadsden, who signed Wednesday, has been hampered by injuries the past two years and hasn't played since October 2002.

Guard Jamie Nails will be inactive because of an ankle injury, and Seth McKinney will start for him.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
