Iowa
I would guess playing on a team that will lose 100 games isn't the most tantalizing proposition for a 39 year old.

gizmo
MLB has just announced the retirement of Manny Ramirez, effective immediately.Reading between the lines, it would seem that perhaps Manny had another positive test for a banned substance, which I believe would result in a 1-year suspension as a repeat offender. I think there's no doubt that he has Hall of Fame numbers--but does this affect his chances of getting elected? http://www.baseball-reference.com/blog/archives/10642 That's why
enterthemadness
He is stupid. He takes drugs to enhance himself, gets caught for the second time, and decides to retire. He cost Tampa Bay money. Dummy he is. Not saying he is a bad person. Just stupid for taking stuff.

fanofthefish
When he left the Rays they said it was for "Family reasons" if he indeed he has tested positive again for a banned substance like the one he took before that was a fertitliy drug one can only conclude that Manny is pregnant

(For the record, I'm just trying to mess with Raysfan at this point.)

Schnellders
While I knew in his peak at Boston he was an extremely dangerous hitter, I was unaware that he recorded 165 RBI in 1999 with Cleveland

Hotcorner
Eh... Manny's never been accused of being terribly smart. not good news for the Rays who are already in a lot of trouble. although they may as well move on anyway, give someone else the at-bats who might be around for a while. Shaft
My guess is the banned substance he tested positive for isn't a PED itself, but prolly something along the lines of the fertility drug he tested positive for in 2009. Second time offender would have been a 100 game suspension. Moot point; does anyone think he hasn't used PEDs in his career? I'm personally not one to crucify the man, or what the Red Sox accomplished in 2004 and 2007, because as far as I'm concerned most of the real contenders of that decade were juicing too. Philosophically speaking, I place most of the blame on the union and the league for not cracking down on it better, back then. My guess is he's gonna get the Mark McGwire treatment as far as HOF goes, as will Barry Bonds. How many votes did Mac get last time? Like 27% of the 75% requirement? I personally wouldn't vote for him. I did say I place most of the blame on the league and the union, but Manny can keep his two championships, his 555 home runs and millions of dollars, but not the Hall of Fame. EDIT: Mac got 19% of votes last year.
Admin
The only reason on earth for him to be using female fertility drugs is that he's also using PEDs. You can be almost 100% certain that he has used PEDs in his career.
