dom2613
Marlins Sign Gabe Gross By Mike Axisa [April 23 at 6:06pm CST] The Marlins have signed Gabe Gross to a minor league contract, reports MLB.com's Joe Frisaro (on Twitter). Like the Chris Sampson deal, this one is pending a physical. Gross, 31, asked the Mariners for his release in March after having a poor Spring Training. He hit just .239/.290/.311 for the A's last year, and is a .239/.330/.385 hitter in 1,680 career plate appearances. Gross' defense in right field has been particularly strong, though. Entendu
I remember in MLB 10: The Show, he had one of the most intimidating batting stances I've ever seen lol.
CyggyMarlin
So where will he fit in with the team's plans? AAA? major-league bench?
Erick
So where will he fit in with the team's plans? AAA? major-league bench? I definitely wish it was him up here, instead of Ozzie.
fanofthefish
At this point he's just adding organizational depth, he could be a cheap alternative if the outfield has problems staying healthy
Hammerhead
Depth signing.
FutureGM
Yeah, with Morrison going down we have very little MLB-ready OF depth in case of further injury. Hence why we called up Ozzie Martinez instead of one of our AAA outfielders, all of whom are pretty terrible.
enterthemadness
I remember in MLB 10: The Show, he had one of the most intimidating batting stances I've ever seen lol. And only 40 home runs to show for it, pitcher's must be scared to pitch to him :cool
