Gus Johnson not doing March Madness is simply unamerican.

Obama needs to put "getting Gus Johnson back to doing March Madness" atop his To Do List now that Osama is dead.

Although if this means Gus Johnson may finally get to announce a Super Bowl, then awesome.

Also, what kind of idiot choose Brad Nessler over Gus Johnson? Nessler's a pretty good play by play guy and all, but he's not even close to Johnson's level.

NFL Network will regret passing on Johnson for the rest of their lives.*wags finger emphatically*

Gus Johnson has called his last NCAA March Madness college basketball game at CBS Sports. The network confirmed late Monday night the popular play-by-play announcer was leaving after a lengthy round of contract negotiations. "We were not able to reach an agreement with Gus. We wish him continued success," said CBS spokeswoman Jennifer Sabatelle.

Johnson is poised to jump to Fox Sports, with an announcement possible as early as Tuesday. Johnson is in "active discussions" with the network, said Fox spokesman Dan Bell. If he does join Fox, Johnson would likely call NFL and college football games.

The New York Daily News reported Monday night that Johnson's move to Fox was a done deal. The paper also reported CBS let Johnson go because some of its on-air college basketball talent were jealous of the attention he gets during March Madness:

A CBS source who wanted Johnson - a former (New York) Knick radio voice - back said that not only money, but politics was an issue. The source said some of CBS Sports' college hoops voices were not thrilled with Johnson's rise to March Madness' most popular voice.

As Gus "Rise and Fire" Johnson bids adieu to CBS, we leave you with a video of some of his greatest announcing hits. Hah-Hah!
