November 25, 200322 yr I was just called by a friend who said that Hank just reported that D Lee was just traded to the Cubs. any other details?
November 25, 200322 yr Rotoworld says it is for Hee Seop Choi and???? If it's just for Hee Seop Choi, this is a horrendous trade, but I doubt it is.
November 25, 200322 yr Lee is great but Choi has the potential to be as good as Lee. He can get on-base!
November 25, 200322 yr Lee is great but Choi has the potential to be as good as Choi. He can get on-base! Yeah, right. Just like Gary Matthews Jr. is better than Juan Encarnacion.

Just like Gary Matthews Jr. is better than Juan Encarnacion. .350 OBP with just a .218 BA... bring the BA up and the OBP will follow. At least it isn't DENNY BAUTISTA AND DON LEVINSKI for f***ing Conine
November 25, 200322 yr I hope its for choi and cruz......... Actually, that's probably who it is for. The Cubs have been trying to package them in a deal, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was for Choi and Cruz.
November 25, 200322 yr Listen to Rotoworld, guys. And you got a PTBNL! Marlins acquired first baseman Hee Seop Choi and a player to be named from the Cubs for first baseman Derrek Lee. Regardless of who the PTBN is, the Marlins did very well here. Choi will probably at least as good of a hitter as Lee by 2005 and probably won't be much worse next year. By picking up the first baseman in return for Lee, it appears clear that either Juan Encarnaction or Mike Lowell will be gone from Florida next season. Non-tendering Encarnacion and putting Miguel Cabrera in right field would seem to be the right move.
November 25, 200322 yr Within a month after winning the organization's second World Series championship, the Marlins' brass was back at work, preparing for the 2004 season by acquiring 24-year-old first baseman Hee Seop Choi from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for Derrek Lee. -Floridamarlins.com
November 25, 200322 yr yep it's a done deal. wonder who the "player to be named later" is. so now where are we at.... is Conine still playing 1B? if so, we just traded Lee for bench help.

November 25, 200322 yr Hey people, chin up, this is a good deal. Don't let Choi's first season fool you. He's a good player. Listen to what rotoworld said.
November 25, 200322 yr Choi has a lot of talent, but never showed consistency with the Cubs. If he is ever consistent, he will be quite good, and he's very young. I have no idea who the PTBNL, but i'm guessing based on Lee being a veteran, it will be a high level prospect the fish get.
