Ervin Santana throws no-hitter.

I wanna see someone face the minimum WITHOUT throwing a no hitter or perfect game. I'll bet that's happened fewer times than a perfect game.

I know it happened back in 2007 I wanna say ... someone on the Indians, was perfect until a 1 out single in the 7th and got a double play to end the inning. Oddly enough the same thing happened in the 8th.

However, you may be right on that - more rare than perfection.

Surely can't feel as good when the other team scored

If you lose, then yeah, but if you win, then so what?

Still doesn't look as good...

The goal of a pitcher is to prevent runs, earned or unearned. Runs decide victories, hits do not.

I'm more impressed by a 1 or 2 hitter, CG shutout, than I am a no-no that results in a run scoring.

Alright, well that error isn't made, he still gets the no hitter. Sure a 3-0 no hitter looks better than 3-1, but it's still a no hitter.

You seem to be implying that all no-hitters are equal. That really isn't true.

Case in point would be AJ Burnett. Walking 9 and hitting a batter. Is that performance really more impressive than your typical 1 hitter with two walks or so?

Edwin Jackson had one just as embarrassing too. 8 walks over 150 pitches.

In Santana's case, he still has some culpability even if the run is unearned by throwing the wild pitch. Things weren't entirely out of his control; he had a part in allowing the runner to reach home.

I'm saying it's still a no hitter. Not at all am I saying they are the same.

Hanley wasn't "hustlin" when Anibal had 2 outs in the 9th. Where is the head in hands emoticon?

What does that have to do with this?
