Any Palm trees in the new stadium? I would like to see some real coconut trees in the new stadium, also, will there be a venue in the stadium where you can buy coconut Drinks/Foods maybe they can call the kiosk ''coconut corner'' something like that, just an idea. I think people would like a place that serves coconut type products.

yeah, I was thinking the same thing, I mean it is florida after all..

Im just wonder what the decor is going to look like inside

I'm sure there will be plenty of coconutty, citrus tropical sh*t everywhere. The coconut corner does sound awesome though. I've always been for the idea that the overhead costs of vending at the stadium should, at least initially, be kept artificially low to allow the opportunity for small mom and pop style startups to get a foot in the door. I think it's boring and incredibly disgusting that conglomerates like Aramark throw their weight around with contracts that prohibit competition and give them exclusive license to be the sole vendor of food at a given institution. (for anyone who doesn't know Aramark, they supply food for most major prisons and universities..UF for example.)

Yeah, me too. I'm tired of the Royal Palms in Miami stadiums/arenas. Coconut Palms look much, much better IMO. Just look at Ocean Drive.

coconut palms >>> royal palms

I totally agree with the proposition of competition from as many quarters as possible beyond the institutional crowd of vendors like Aramark, but "overhead costs" aren't really a factor, the concession areas are built-in and paid-for. It's a matter of operational skill and competence.

The problem is that the Marlins (and any other franchise) have quality and reliability standards that must be met in the interest of customer satisfaction, which puts any "mom and pop" operation at a severe disadvantage. Not to mention that the idea of holding any cost "artificially low" for anyone makes no sense, the Marlins are trying to maximize revenue so they can put quality on the field.

Unless you have a long, demonstrable history of quality and reliability or Loria's been buying your tacos or enchiladas or whatever from your mobile street unit for years, you're gonna be totally out of luck. They can't afford to have anyone who could turn out to be a screw-up having space anywhere in or on the property.
