O by the way Delgado numbers back in 1994-1995 seasons in 80 games, Carlos hit .225 with OBP of .352 with 12HR, 35 RBI's and 31BB/72K's......

 

AND Choi numbers in 80 games this season hit .218 with OBP .350 with 8HR, 28 RBI's and 31BB/ 71K's

 

WOW how the numbers compare, also to all those Cubs fans. I guess if you guys were in the same position back in 2001(in the playoff hunt)as your team is now, would you have given up on Corey Patterson and trashed him on the way out the door? Remember he was ONLY hitting .206 in 70 games(between two season 00'/01') with an OBP of .245(OUCH!) with only 6HR and 47K's

I can see what he will bring to the Cubs: Gold Glove fielder, very quick for a 1B which will bring some speed to the middle of the order, good OBP, patient, most likely will put up bigger homerun numbers at a smaller park like Wrigley and at the more hitter-friendly division rivals' parks.

First Cub fans you'll have to wait till June and July before you see the Lee you want to see. As far as Choi coming close to Lee, I'd rather him come close to Delgado then Lee. O by the way, back in 98' Lee could NOT hit a curveball, well hitting .238(454AB) with an OBP .318 , 120K's with 17HR. I hope Lee has a Big year for HIMSELF next season he deserve it. Patient Hitter? not really, especially if the situation comes in the slightest bit of a "clutch situation". and look at his BA with RISP. not pretty. he's blown numerous scoring opps. for us this season many of which came back to haunt us. Luckily not in the playoffs.

Great, I have to go outside other Marlins fans to find someone with some common sense (thankfully there are others in the world that dont believe the myth). The deal was good for both sides really, but most people on this board hate Lee with a passion. Choi has a high chance of developing into a great first basemen, while Lee is already very above average and brings speed + defense as well.

This deal is even if Choi does good. He is an unproven prospect. I think he will do good, never all-around Lee good, but he can still be a quality guy.
