gizmo
So its just the execs on ice? I'll pay to see that.
Dr Beinfest
It's the execs vs the players. Kinda like the longest yard.
Dr Beinfest
Mike Santos is Stone Cold. Kris Versteeg, naturally, is Chris Rock. This makes Jovo Burt Reynolds, naturally. And Gudbranson is, by default, Adam Sandler.
Beetle
New season (hopefully)... time for a new thread. BTW, the guy who played Stanley these past few seasons has been let go, per George Richards. Bummer.
Dr Beinfest
I was gonna wait for the lockout to end to post the new thread lol.

yokofox33
I was so excited to go to Opening Night and everything... Will they refund my money at least if it's not played?
Dr Beinfest
I can only imagine they will, or they'll credit you or something.
Admin
This is back, we'll use this for general NHL discussion. if something big happens like a trade, or suspension, or related it should still have it's own topic. Enjoy!
Dr Beinfest
Sweet. News is they've been talking a lot, but still probably locked out until mid December/2013.
Mr. Man
I think the owners are caving and Fehr knows it. Fehr is going to try and get as much as he can out of them. But that just means we might be here a while.
Dr Beinfest
Course it'll be the owners caving. The players show zero interest in playing anytime soon. The owners have been the ones caving the whole time.
gizmo
Apparently the players want to be paid for the games lost if the season were to resume this year. Good luck with that....
MarlinKidd101
Seriously, honestly, truthfully, spiritually, metaphorically, literally, f*** all these guys. Greedy f***s.
Dr Beinfest
Yeah, f*** them. Anyone who defends the players in this lockout is f***ing retarded. Not defending the owners either, but the players are clearly the ones who are instigating a continuing lockout as opposed to working to get something done. gizmo
I have a feeling that Fehr is making it much worse for the players than anything else. There was a rumor today that he wasn't fully disclosing details of the NHL's offers to the players.

Piazza31
Curious, Since when did players start getting 50% of the profits in any league- that doesn't make any sense to me. The contracts should always be enough, as well as benefits (health, life insurance).
Schnellders
Random question but is Drew Miller of the Red Wings any good? Just heard that he's playing over in Scotland during the lockout for what could be considered my "local" team (even though I've never been to a game of theirs....) Average third line/fourth line player. Considering his AHL and NCAA numbers, he'd be an above average 25-30 goal scorer in the EIHL.

The contracts should always be enough, as well as benefits (health, life insurance). They're coming off of a CBA that gave them 57%. 50% is normal for the other leagues though.
