Eddie Altamonte
http://network.yardbarker.com/mlb/article_external/50_worst_managers_in_baseball_since_1961/14670326Â Â Ozzie was listed 3rd overall in the worse managers in MLB history since 1961 with his beautiful performance with the Marlins in 2012, looking at the names listed that is quite of an achievement, and well deserved I may add. If it were up to me I would add Freddi there somewhere as well, no list is perfect I guess
fanofthefish
How and why would you have Fredi on that list? True the Marlins took a step back in 2007, but other than that his record after that was above .500 and the Marlins were in contention. Also his stint in Atlanta despite the collapse in 2011 has been stellar.
Wild Card
Yea, I never quite understood the hate for Fredi... But Ozzie sucked.

I'm not saying he's the greatest manager but for job he did managing the crapbag assembled for him after the Cabrera trade and to post winning records with great players like Mark Hendrickson, Hayden Penn, Bonifacio at third and worlds worst hitting coach he deserves a little admiration, not much but a little. EricWiener
Bonifacio as a starting player, a year before he was ready, was a primary reason that team did not win 90+ and go to the post season.

It makes no sense. You can have a decent team with Bonifacio as a 3B if you make up for it in other areas.
fanofthefish
Explain how Fredi did or didn't make a difference, obviously the Marlins didn't have the players to compete but yet somehow they did, so are you saying the Marlins success during his time was due to the FO and not Fredi? The burden of proof is on you to say why Fredi Gonzalez was able to have a significant influence on the season's record just by managing. The FO should get most of the credit for fielding the players who won the games.
