The marlins added pitchers Grant Dayton, Jose Urena, Angel Sanchez, Michael Brady, catcher J.T. Realmuto and outfielder Brent Keys. Roster now sits at 39

Also by not being added to the 40-man, Jax Suns infielders Danny Black and Mark Canha are now candidates for Rule V draft.

No MLB team is going to carry those guys on their 25 man roster.

Is Wittgren on the 40?

Doesn't look like he is. With those numbers, I feel like someone will definitely try to stash him as a mop up guy for now at least. 0.77 ERA over two different levels and 58.1 innings? Solid, at least.

Speaking of rule 5 draftees, any news on Alfredo Silverio? Did we have to return him, is he in our system at all, what?

I'm pretty sure we don't have to return him because he was on the major league DL all season.

No, Silverio will most likely be at New Orleans after getting a bit of a tryout in ST

Who said this, and when?

I don't think anybody did, but it's a pretty damn good guess. Our triple-A outfield looks like Jensen/Peterson/Silverio unless any of the three make the major league roster. I'm still hoping Peterson makes the team out of spring this year, I think he would be a nice complement to Ruggiano.

Petersen may not be in the organization next year. He's a minor league FA and seemed thrilled to be one.

I bet, he could never stay up on the big league team. We'll see what happens... I do hope he stays, but if he can get a job somewhere else more power to him. I guess Smolinski would be his triple-A replacement.

I think Petersen has a better chance being resigned than Smolinski does... he has been a huge disappointment throughout his tenure in the Marlin's organization

Or Coghlan. IMO, a better "compliment" to Ruggiano than Petersen.

The way this off season is going, Coghlan will be our starting third baseman.

That's actually exactly why I think Peterson leaves and Smolinski is still here. Petey could probably get a job in the majors, Smolinski probably doesn't have a ton of teams calling him...

I hope he is our 3B next year considering that we're interested in Yuniesky fucking Betancourt instead.
