What a shame. I hated when he pitched for the Phillies, but I respect the hell out of him as a player.

Peace out, jerk.

Just kidding. He seems like an awesome dude.

Witnessed his perfect game live and got an autograph after. He was a gamer on a field but a seemingly nice dude off, sad to see him retire.

Seems like Ed Lucas and Christian Yelich are confused about who faced Doc last...

Christian Yelich ✔ @ChristianYelich

Congrats to Roy Halladay on a great career. Grew up watching him dominate year after year. Honored to be the last batter he faced

Ed Lucas @ELuke21

I'm honored to be the very last out Roy Halladay got-- 8,247 went down before me. Congrats to him on such an outstanding career. #doc

lolololol.

Both are right, his last batter was Yelich (walk) and his last out was Lucas.

Fuck me.

Can't stand the guy. He had one of the biggest strike zones in baseball, and if the ump called a ball and he didn't agree then he would throw a fit.

I really liked the piece Keith Law wrote on ESPN about his HOF candidacy. I actually don't think he's a HOFer personally. Kevin Brown was every bit as dominant, just not as popular. Mike Mussina is also more deserving hands down.

Roy Halladay got Ed Lucas out and just decided it was time to call it a career before Lucas had the chance to adjust to him.

"Hmm, Cy Young in both leagues, no hitter, perfect game... no ring... but I did get Ed Lucas out ... yeah I'm done."

Agreed. Especially on Moose, nobody seems to remember how good he was in Baltimore as well.

Clearly Halladay adjusted to Ed Lucas first.
