Mark Mulder is coming back

Mark Mulder will attempt a comeback in 2014.

Mulder, 36, decided to give it a shot after he saw Dodgers reliever Paco Rodriguez on TV and picked up something in Rodriguez's delivery that he could emulate. Mulder, who retired after the 2008 season following a pair of shoulder surgeries, recently threw for three clubs and was clocked in the 89-90 mph range. "The best way to describe it is, the ball is coming out of my hand better now than at any point when I was in St. Louis," Mulder said. "I wouldn't be trying this is if I didn't think the stuff I was throwing was good enough [to pitch in the big leagues]."

Someone needs money.

The amazing thing is that almost $20 million of the $33 million he made as a player was paid to him over 2006 to 2008--when he was absolutely worthless and shitty.

Supposedly Mulder has looked ok for being out of the game for so long and having altered his delivery is able to throw pain free now.

As a lefty specialist, it wont be a matter of stamina really. I'm sure there will be a few teams willing to give him an invite and it will come down to what he would get if he made the team and the situation he wanted to be in at the same time.
