Barnes is such an intriguing prospect. Never know whether these guys will pan out but he's always had the on-base skills and although he's no slugger he's not a total slap-hitter either. Has a nice little home run tear going to wrap up the season with 6 over his last 12 games. Would be a great tool to have a guy who can play both C/2B on the roster. Competently I mean..

since July 2nd

170 PA, 12.9% BB, 5.3% K, 9 HR, .317/.426/.612 (.285 BABIP)

and for the Suns that was 11th straight win.

How nuts is this: they finished the season on a 10-0 streak. If they'd gone just 9-1 they miss the playoffs.

The Jacksonville Suns open the Southern League championship tonight against the Chattanooga Lookouts.

The first two games are on the road, with the final three (*if necessary ) games at home Friday through Sunday, home games are scheduled for 7:05. Urena takes the hill in the opener, followed by Link and Nicolino toes the rubber on Friday.

cool season for the Suns. They won 16 of their last 17.

Nicolino got a huge ovation when he was relieved in the 7th, Suns fans knew that was surely the last time they'd get to watch him. Imagine same for Barnes, JT, and a few others. Viosergy Rosa named championship series MVP. He'd been on a tear in 20 games since call-up from Jupiter, he'll be back starting 1b for the Suns next season.

And as I mentioned in the game thread yesterday, lots of Stanton Suns jerseys at the stadium which was great to see.

I'd say Rosa has emerged as more of a prospect than Solorazano this season

For sure. Rosa showed a good bit of power in Greensboro, but I have my reservations about that ballpark - however, he hit 13 in Jupiter, and that's certainly enough for me. Jupiter is freakin' huge.

Hit .292 with good power and a lot of RBI [95]. I approve.
