Admin
According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, starter Mat Latos lost his arbitration hearing with the Marlins. Which means that the arbitrator ruled in favor of the club's $9.4 million filing, not Latos' filing of $10.4 million RotoWorld.com
SilverBullet
Also Latos is now under 10 million which is of note because the Marlins want to use the Haren 10 million for Latos' salary so that helps.

Das Texan
He's already getting a pretty good raise for half a season's worth of work. yup, him wanting over 10 was comical after that 2014 season.
Admin
I bet he could've gotten nearly 10 if he would've just settled before the figures were exchanged.
pollythewog
wah wah boo hoo “I woke up, had like 50 text messages,” Latos says. “I called my agent. He said, ‘(GM) Josh Byrnes couldn’t get ahold of you.’ I had zero missed calls from him. I had to call him. Maybe he had the wrong number.” He speaks of “great times” in the Reds organization and says he’s satisfied to be with the Marlins, but questions the Reds for pushing him too aggressively as he returned from injury last year, and expresses lingering bitterness at going through the arbitration process with Miami. “You see it as a business,” he says. “You kind of see how much of a pawn you really are.” Here are more notes on pitchers. Entendu
Sound like he has something bad to say about every organization he's been in.
SilverBullet
I read the whole article and not just that little blurb... it didn't sound like bitterness at all. Sounded like he was just being very straightforward about the business side of the game (which he was asked about) and he made it clear he wasn't harboring any resentment towards any of the three teams he's been part of. He seems like a no-nonsense team player who will speak up if necessary. I like him so far.

Isn't Ken Rosenthal the idiot who went out and interviewed him? A character guy doesn't block out all national interviews either. I don't get why you're so upset at Latos over this. Are character guys not allowed to do interviews?

Mat Latos seems to speak his mind, but I rather him just worry about getting ready and be injury free.
