Well, I don't know the guy well enough to call him a "clubhouse cancer," but he's definitely at the very least a little arrogant. He had a reputation in high school for being very cocky, especially when he was pitching. He's toned that down a lot. I've also heard from high school kids my brother coached that he was somewhat of a jackass when they approached him to sign baseballs a couple years ago. It's highly unlikely that he's as nice as the guy you see on TV. As a matter of fact, it would be hard to be that guy because he's pretty perfect on TV. Even if you take away the little I can tell you of his past, his TV personality always seemed rather fake to me.
