Culture of Losing Spreads Across Miami-Dade County

The Miami Dolphins acquired Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell (along with his stupid contract) today. Byron Maxwell told the Dolphins that his injured shoulder still doesn't allow him to do a single push up or bench press rep. They still signed off on the deal.

The #CultureofLosing is leaking north to Dolphins Stadium, or maybe the Marlins left some behind when they moved out.

I actually like the trade. Only traded down 5 picks (difference between #8 and #13 picks are miniscule), Kiko was the best defensive player Buffalo had before the injuries and he's still just 25, and Byron Maxwell is still decent, and even if he isn't the Dolphins can get out of the deal with just $3 million in dead money next season.

It's an incredibly low risk deal. No draft picks were lost, the team can get out of the big deal if needed, and there's high potential if Kiko becomes a Pro Bowl linebacker again. I really don't see the problem. Kiko could tear everything and Byron could suck and it still wouldn't be that bad of a deal since we lost just about nothing.

If Ross is willing to pay close to the top of the salary cap max (and he's a billionaire who doesn't seem to care) then this deal should upset nobody. Olivier Vernon was as good as gone anyway when he asked for $15 million a year, we got Mario Williams who is just as good and cheap than Vernon will be, and Brent Grimes turned 32, which is pretty much the age cornerbacks reach serious decline. Those are the guys we let go of in order to accommodate this deal.

All in all the deal potentially fixes some needs and leaves us in better position next year. The "culture of losing" dies if Tannehill can ever take that next step. He really is the key to everything.

I'm gonna have to disagree. There's no culture of losing spreading. There's just a steady law of averages going on for South Florida sports!!

One team is usually great, one team is usually fighting for a playoff spot, one team is usually mediocre, and one team is usually fucking terrible.

That is... the Heat, the Dolphins, the Marlins, and then the Panthers. Every year that changes, though.

Could it be the other way around???....

As a Bucs fan, having just signed Brent Grimes, how worried should we be of his wife?

Culture of winning. She will be an absolute saint.

The Bucs have a culture of winning?

No but when people leave a Miami team they seem to do better regardless of where they are going.
