SilverBullet
Hey Marlins fans, a couple of roster moves were made today, which would you like first, the good news or the bad news? ...wait a minute, we're not sure which is which.
SilverBullet
Jokes aside, I'd rather have McGowan over Breslow, he seems more likely to have some success than Breslow who was atrocious and not improving. Curious though, don't we not have a lefty now?
CYmarlins
No lefties though. I'd rather they bring in Lauzo even though he isn't much of an improvement. Dunn is probably 3-4 weeks away. Breslow had to go though.
Guest Vince0926
BHS card use clearly failed last night
SongInTheAir
Replacing crap with crap Yeah, but at least McGowan is like a soft serve swirler, Breslow was pure liquid.
SongInTheAir
Don't let McGowan's 0.00 ERA fool you. He walked 6 and struck out 7 in 7 1/3 AAA innings.
marlins_09
Let McGowan be the clean up guy until they can cut him for Dunn I guess

Guest Vince0926
I also like to commend the Marlins by acknowledging breslow and narveson were a mistake. It's may 11. Should have been done April 3. Good work. Please keep wittgren and bring up Dunn soon
pollythewog
How is that different than Ramos? I think it's time to give up the Ramos hate Vince. He's 9 for 9 in save opps.

pollythewog
I see walks walks and more walks. I don't think he allows many hits but those walks kill. sure but he also has a career high k rate. Regardless, the guy is doing his job and doing it well. 9 for 9 save opps. Marlins have 17 wins.

The heart palpitations I get in the ninth inning would contest the phrase "doing it well" but I guess I get your point, the results are there. Guest Vince0926
Who are the contenders for the BHS card now? i say McGowan, Johnson and Koehler (for bullpen).
SongInTheAir
Despite how poorly Breslow was doing on the field, some advanced stats show he was actually due for regression- he was actually even worse than his already awful stats show.
Guest Vince0926
The prospect of him being the only lefty in our bullpen primed to face Harper in our next 7 of 10 games after today was too much to bare. Glad they DFAed him. You can't be giving games up like that. This goes back to the standings argument. In May, losses could and do build up. This is actually a twisted good point, considering Dunn isn't ready to return and that Breslow has sucked all year and not just lately, the timing of this move is interesting so it makes u wonder if any of it has to do with 7 of the next 10 games (after tonight) being against the Nats. I mean come on let's be honest. I rather have McGowan there facing harper than Breslow.
