Posted May 14, 20168 yr This guys .549 OPS is too painful to watch. Give Rojas and his .658 OPS a few weeks of regular playing time. He's a +defender, too. I've had it with Hech's shitty AB's.

May 14, 20168 yr Go get Reyes, he'll be virtually free I'm not sure about that...an abuser and a drug addict in dee. not good.
May 14, 20168 yr I'm not sure about that...an abuser and a drug addict in dee. not good. Quite the DP combo
May 14, 20168 yr I'm not sure about that...an abuser and a drug addict in dee. not good. at least he knows how to swing a bat correctly.
May 14, 20168 yr I think Reyes hates Loria just as much as us for being told to buy that house lol. Hopefully Hech turns it around soon enough.
May 14, 20168 yr welp.....all I gotta say, good teams rebound from this. mattingly knows he messed up. hechavarria knows he messed up. morris better know he messed up. Barraclough knows he messed up. dietrich knows he messed up. so do something about it. makes the events of last weekend seem significant doesn't it?
May 14, 20168 yr All can be forgiven with a win or wins today win(s), yes. man....you gotta make the nationals sweat. I had such a wonderful time from 7:05 - 9:20 or yesterday. winning both games would be the perfect treat for all of us
May 14, 20168 yr Stomach churning RISP performance is undermining what would otherwise be a terrific record. Virtually every game they've lost recently, save the Brewer blowouts, they've had the lead, missed on numerous opportunities to pad it, only to give up the lead and game and see what should have been a win turn into a loss. They'd be right there with the Nats and Muts otherwise. Frustrating to say the least, seeing this happen again and again.
May 14, 20168 yr Author 0-3 with 2 K's so far today. Entering completely useless with the bat territory
May 14, 20168 yr I've said it since 2013 but I'll say it again. Hechavarria will be the team's starting shortstop until the year 2020 and likely beyond whether you enjoy it or not. Just accept it and move on.
May 14, 20168 yr We should've traded Hech in the offseason for a SP. Not even hindsight either, I said this during the offseason. I didn't expect him to be this bad, but it's clear that last year was a career year for him offensively. Too bad this team never sells high.

We actually prefer to buy low, but only on guys who will never come back to their previous numbers, and sell low, on guys who will.

May 15, 20168 yr I think Hech has gotten enough days off as it is. If Hech really ends up having an off year he's gonna kick himself for not signing an extension in hopes of looking for that Andrus contract he wanted when he wasn't even going to get what Crawford got. May 15, 20168 yr Hech= Alex Gonzalez. I'm fine with that. Some of you are not understanding the true importance of the SS position.
May 15, 20168 yr I haven't looked up his defensive stats for this season compared to last but they would have to be very good to make up for how bad he's been with the bat. If he is playing phenomenal defense there is value to that especially at SS
May 15, 20168 yr I understand his bat hasn't done anything but am I the only not as preoccupied with him solely because our offense around him has been pretty good? Just saying he's not as glaring a problem because others are picking up the slack. Not that it shouldn't be addressed either but it doesn't stand out to me as much as it did in 2013 and 2014.
May 15, 20168 yr It doesn't help if he isn't hitting when he is in the same line up as Mathis. That creates a black hole for the 7-9 hitters in our line up. He has been late on a lot of pitches lately, and the contact he has made has been weak. He doesn't need to be amazing but he does need to hold his weight.
May 17, 20168 yr Hech= Alex Gonzalez. I'm fine with that. Some of you are not understanding the true importance of the SS position. No, he's not. In terms of offense alone, his 2015 season was basically the equivalent of a mediocre performance according to Alex Gonzalez standards. He needs to maintain those numbers from last year to be Alex Gonzalez. He's basically a worthless piece of shit with the offensive numbers he's putting up now.
