Teal Shadow
This is just a rumor right now, but i I've been told the Marlins will not make an offer......IF the bidding starts at 15 million. Now that being said, Vlad has to agree on two things IF contract talks with the Marlins are to get serious. One, his has to agree to take no more than 12.5 to 14 (depending on the players that are moved) in the first two years. Two, the third and so on (probable 6)years have to be tied into a stadium. IF Vlad agrees to all this it could get interesting. The amount of the total contract, bonus clauses, and no-trade clauses could get stick...BUT, What I'm telling you is right NOW there alot "IF" going into this weekend. Could it be done? YES!! Remember also the O's are ready to offer a 15-16mil a year contract ITS all in Vlad's hands

Guest marlins02
$15 mill a year? damn if this was 2000 we would be laughed at like crazy for wanting him to take less than $15 mill, let alone $20 mill. talking doesnt hurt but i would perfer for them to take care of the pen first and catcher
jonnylons
You dont pass up on a player like Vlad to shore up your bullpen. We CAN multi-task, you know. Sign Benitez and talk to Vlad. Not hard. Hey Admin, how come everyone is becoming mods these days - and I still cant even change my name around of put a cute little sentence in there like KJC or Juanky... By the way, nice Mr. Freeze bordering - we need to 'chill out'!

jonnylons
I dont think the Marlins have made an offer to Vlad. Yeah, I know I have said otherwise, but right now, it seems it is all too quiet. I dont have finger on the situation, but those of you who do (or think you do) please speak up. The O's are talking a lot of BS about them signing Vlad by sunday. The Yanks talkd with Vlad supposedly had heated up, but now, it seems not likely. I cant help but think if the Marlins offer a deal, it will get done. AJBurnett34
It doesnt matter if he wont sign with us, we always have Javy Lopez that had a monstorous season with the braves. We dont need more outfielders, we have enough (Pierre, Conine and Cabs). We need a solid catcher behind the plate that has experience. Beinfest4Prez
Well there is redmond for that. You must forget that he has started the past 4 years before Pudge and always was good defensively and offensively.
AJBurnett34
I like how Redmond plays Defensively. He handles the Staff very good but redmond hasnt gotten to bat many times. It will be hard for him to get back in shape.
jonnylons
AHHHHH!!! We got Castro AND Redmond - we dont need another catcher! If we are going to spend the money, improve a position - like OF with Vlad (yeah, he will cost more than Lopez...).

You're saying Lopez wouldn't be an improvement over the 2-headed monster of Castro/Redmond?
