July 16, 20168 yr In other news, remove Phelps from the 7th inning. Barraclough is better and Wittgren probably is too.
July 16, 20168 yr Eduardo called Rodney and Ramos the R & R Experience. I'm gonna one up it to the R & R Express
July 16, 20168 yr Great win. Chen had one bad inning. Offense kept coming back. Cardinals defense sucks. Rojas clutch. @Admin@Admin still a virgin!

July 16, 20168 yr It feels like every bullpen is the worst bullpen in the majors right now. The Marlins aren't with two Allstars at 8th and 9th inning, but they still don't make me feel like a lead is safe when they get the ball. But almost every bullpen I've seen feels like that. The Marlins mashed 3 of 4 from the Cubs off their bullpen. The later innings are going to get very interesting for everybody in the second half of the season....
July 16, 20168 yr Tbh @Das Texan has made me love beating the Cardinals as much as the Mets, Phillies, or Braves.

July 16, 20168 yr Their defense doesn't give us runs in years past. And now their defense give us extra runs.
July 16, 20168 yr Another win we may not have if not for Rodney, him holding them scoreless in the 8th set this up as well.
July 16, 20168 yr Big inning for Rodney. Speaking for myself, the issue I had/have with the Rodney deal is that we dealt our best chip for Rodney and sent Ellington down for that spot. Is the upgrade from Ellington to Rodney worth giving up Paddack's trade value? And the answer comes down to whether Paddack and some pieces could have gotten us a quality starter. We may never know. I was always fine dealing Paddack, it just would have been better to replace our 5th starter with a quality starter versus replacing Ellington with Rodney. July 16, 20168 yr The thing you must consider about Rodney is not only did we get better with him (and yes, he improved us) but we kept him away from rivals. The Mets and Nationals are now both seeking relievers and may have went after him.

Sent from my iPhone using MarlinsBaseball.com mobile app If the answer to this was or turned out to definitively be no, would you be ok with getting Rodney for Paddack? I understand this is a hypothetical question but would u agree with that?
July 16, 20168 yr I think we've whined more about trading Paddack than trading Miguel Cabrera. Only a select few, but yeah it sure seems like those have
July 16, 20168 yr Yes, I would have traded Paddack for Rodney if that was the best piece we could have added. I am all for going for it this year, and Rodney helps us next year too in many ways (for example we can trade a bullpen arm to upgrade elsewhere and we can spend more money elsewhere because he is a value).
