Das Texan
Ahhh, that's fair. I thought the same so I can't argue this one. FWIW, Frisaro... and I know it's just Frisaro... says despite the firing Fredi and Loria didn't have bad blood. So who knows, I guess it's possible to get over things. Can't assume that Fredi's post firing comments in 2010 are what he still feels today. Frisario would also like to sell you some prime waterfront property in the middle of the Subsahara, fwiw. Das Texan
Pretty much. I'm guessing he's taking this job in hopes he gets hired down the line to manage another team. Stopgap. He's terrible. Or just hoping hte rumors of Loria selling next fall are real.
SilverBullet
I'm gonna strongly assume that if Fredi is taking this with any hesitation it's Mattingly that made this happen in some way.

Admin
I am excited to have Fredi back on a personal level without getting into it more. He is aware of this website and he's a really nice guy.

legacyofCangelosi
Im curious as why squall thinks Fredi is a good 3b coach. I actually don't remember much from when he coached third for us back in the day.

SilverBullet
What he said after the firing of 2010 ? Gonzalez: “There’s not a manager dead or alive that Jeffrey thinks is good enough. Not Connie Mack, not anyone.” Loria said that if Gonzalez made those comments, “I’m a little surprised because it’s classless -- and you can quote me -- especially because he was with us for five years and he was a colossal failure. Not nice. Not nice.”

SilverBullet
So how long do we think Fredi is going to last this time? That's between him and his wife. We shouldn't get involved in his personal life.
Admin
So how long do we think Fredi is going to last this time? Until he waves a runner home that is thrown out at the plate
Michael
So like 2 weeks. No, I don't want Ricky OR Jemile, but thanks.
SilverBullet
So like 2 weeks. I doubt they'd fire a coach in mid November. Seems like odd timing.
Admin
I don't think he's going to be waving runners home in nov either. Not unless he's at the finish line of a marathon and they need directions
SilverBullet
I don't think he's going to be waving runners home in nov either. Exactly. But Admin said he'll last until he waves home a runner who gets thrown out and you said 2 weeks. Two weeks from now is Nov 22nd. Not sure how many base runners Fredi will be coaching between now and then.
