Because there's still a few weeks left until the rule 5 draft and roster additions can still be made. Today was just about adding the minor leaguers that they didn't want exposed in the draft. Hammerhead Posted November 24, 2016 Share Posted November 24, 2016 Really excited for Steckenrider. Dude has had a hell of a road to this point. Was a crappy starter, had surgery came back to go to the pen after contemplating retirement and now he's dealing Future closer. Luis needs to improve command before he gets here but the fact he throws 96 with a great change up makes him a really good asset and future 3-5 material, possibly more with good time in AA/AAA. Should be here by 2018 full time. Riddle is probably more bench material but a good fielder who plays multiple spots and a decent snappy singles hitter. Could be here this season as a backup.
