SilverBullet
Still amazes me that people wanna call the Marlins fire selling tanking and rebuilding tactics shameless when countless teams currently holding playoff berths have proven it can work including the addition of the Braves to the list with their clincher a few days ago. Whether you agree with the tactics or not and whether you think it'll work for the Marlins or not... it's part of the way many baseball teams are built today. But sure it's only called shameless if it's done by the Marlins. That's such horse shit.
SixYearItch
Its not horse shit. No team in the history of the game has ever traded (given) away from a WAR standpoint the quality of players the Marlins did for as minute a return as the Marlins got. That's just a fact. No surprise at all that all those players traded away are ballin for their new teams.

WAR doesn't change the fact that the Marlins are hardly the first team to do a fire sale and have a tanking season to start a rebuild. It's horseshit that they get ragged on for trying what the Cubs Astros Braves Phillies Brewers etc etc have already done. Can't wait to see the next team to try this tactic and to see how the media reacts to it.
SixYearItch
None of those teams you named had players the quality of Yelich, Stanton and Ozuna and a mid 70s win record when they demolished their team. Hard to get over that Marlins had one of the best position lineups in the NL but because their pitching sucked the team got blown up. Now they suck everywhere and I don’t see any potential difference makers anywhere in their system.
