Stanton traded to Yankees for Castro, Guzman and Devers

Recommended Posts

Greatest player in franchise history is being traded thanks to Loria and Manfred. Im glad you guys are happy that Jeter is gonna save some money.

Don't buy something you can't afford. There were SP out there but they decidedon this bullpen experiment. And you're right, this isn't about Jeter. This is about Sherman.

youre aware anyone who bought this team would do this right?  no one is buying a business and then volunteering to continue taking multi million dollar losses yearly.  There were no SP out there who would not have cost an arm and a leg to get and would have further added to this terrible roster constructiong andsalary situation.

ok, this core has been together since about 2013 for the outfielders and Jose.  They havent been over .500 and havent been anywhere near a legitimate contender the entire time all while being super expensive and the team loses millions of dollars a year.

And no, not every owner outside of the NFL loses money.  Im gonna stop responding to you now cause you seem to have no idea about the business of baseball and seem to think it's as easy as building a fantasy team

Because the core was incomplet since it never had pitching outside of Jose. And, no, I didnt say every team but read whatever you want. You're wrong on this and time will prove it.

You eat 35 mil and you take on Castro then you better get a decent return

we're flipping castro, so eating 35 million is essentially what you get for stanton plus what you get for castro.  Not to mention its probably less that 35 million if he opts out.

I hopped on the Astros bandwagon a couple of years back because they were a scrappy young team who was going to win soon.... and they did, so it's not fun anymore

who's coming with me over to the Yankees wagon?

Tbh what you're describing that you did with the Astros actually applies more to the Marlins than the Yankees now. Unless your definition of soon is before 2020.

exactly, the core was incomplete and there was no feasible way to add talent because Loria fucked everything up by completely neglecting to spend money on the draft and IFA.  getting average free agents would have only further exacerbated this terrible situation the new owners were handed.  IF loria had invested in the draft and IFA and stopped trading away prospects for additions for teams that had no chance to make the playoffs anyway this would be a drastically different situation.  But now we have no farm system, a ridiculously expensive roster with contracts we cant move like Tazawa Chen and Prado, and are losing millions each year.  You're wrong.
