Bret Hart
Huntington made just 4 winning seasons, including 3 PS appearance, thru 12 seasons at Bucs.

Bret Hart
Huntington won at Trevor Williams trade against Marlins, but lost by far at Chris Archer trade against Rays. Glasnow and Meadows are earning much attention as a future assets. Bucs gave up 2 cores but didn't make a playoff, neither did .500.
rmc523
This doesn't surprise me at all. I expected this once they got rid of both their CEO and manager, it only made sense to just clean house.

SilverBullet
Great points here about how odd the sequence of events were especially since Huntington was already working on the search for the new manager... Das Texan
Pirates ownership make the Jeff Loria years seem well run, tbh.
rmc523
Pirates ownership make the Jeff Loria years seem well run, tbh. I don't know if I'd go that far. But these moves are certainly a step in that direction.
Michael
I'd be concerned if I was a player on the team and they offered me an extension. Actually I'd be elated because they're going to send me to a better team with guaranteed money.
Das Texan
I don't know if I'd go that far. But these moves are certainly a step in that direction. Jeff Loria at least spent money (stupidly and moronically, but at least spent money from time to time). The Pirates meanwhile refuse to do anything resembling a team that truly gives a fuck about winning time and time again. This has been going on for a while if you paid attention. rmc523
Right, but I think the Marlins were given far more flak over the years.
SilverBullet
Right, but I think the Marlins were given far more flak over the years. Yea but I think his point is that the Pirates were just as dumb as the Marlins (arguably worse) but didn't get half the crap that the Marlins got for it. Yea but I think his point is that the Pirates were just as dumb as the Marlins (arguably worse) but didn't get half the crap that the Marlins got for it. Bingo I hate agreeing with Silver. I need a shower now. Loria would at least try to spend money at times. This fool in PIttsburgh cries poverty time and again, that presser or whatever it was yesterday was something else. Its the economic system of baseball that causes the Pirates to not spend money, and gives zero examples of why they cant spend money. Like when Loria was a miser, its pretty easy to get an idea for revenues. The Pirates are making money unless they have some stupid debt somewhere that nobody knows about, and Nutting is just crying about without offering any reason for it. If I were a Pirate fan, I'd rather have Loria, tbh.
FishFan95
If I were a Pirate fan, I'd rather have Loria, tbh. If you want Loria to kiss your ass, what would you want the current Pirates owner to do?
