Exactly.

Its why they automatically come in 4th out of the 4 teams I mentioned.

So the 1998 marlins weren’t the worst team in baseball cause they won a WS a year earlier? Same logic as not considering the royals the worst now. Few years since the title and a different roster.

The Royals one fault is that they held on too long with their core group thinking they could still win.

They should have traded the house last year instead of being stubborn.

the 97 Marlins roster was starting to be torn down before the parade was cleaned up.

Slight difference,  but yes, titles generally give you some immunity.  Even if they didnt win, they wouldnt be the joke that the Orioles are anyway.

They weren't. That 1998 team really sparked my love for baseball. The fact Piazza was here for 5 games only amplified it.

Who didn't get stiffy's watching Kotsay, Owens, Floyd and dat unholy Booty on the field.

Marlins held onto their core from the 2003 season for the most part and sold em when they could- which sparked a nice turnaround for that 06 team.

The Royals thought letting Hosmer walk and taking gambles on Mouse and others was a smart play.

The Royals were morons.
