SilverBullet
So 10 games each vs ATL, WSH, NYM, and PHI, and 4 games each vs NYY, BOS, BAL, TOR, TB... Marlins are fucked.
SilverBullet
I heard that the expanded playoffs was rejected by the players. Why? I know why owners would want expanded playoffs but my first thought would be that players would want it too so why would they say no to that? It makes ZERO sense - it'd have been expanded playoffs AND they'd have gotten a share of the revenue from those extra playoff games. Just stupid. rmc523
So get this. Despite not agreeing to MLB's proposal of the 60 games with full prorated play, expanded playoffs, universal DH, etc., the MLBPA wants to NOW negotiate expanded playoffs.....what morons. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/06/mlb-rumors-mlbpa-expanded-postseason-2020.html
SilverBullet
Kinda refreshing my memory on the team and the roster today and damn I almost forgot how improved we looked heading into 2020... I think most people are gonna assume this is the same shitty Marlins team of the last few seasons but this could be a surprisingly fun team to watch at the very least. This awkward way of the 2020 season creeping up on people might really surprise whoever watches the Marlins.

Definitely excited to see what him, Aguilar, Dickerson, and Villar can do.

SilverBullet
Teams can play up to 3 spring training games but they're making it sound like if they play and who they play and scheduling those games is up to the teams to figure out. Sounds like teams have to call each other up and make their own spring training game schedules.

Mr. Man
Ok, so.... If they finish near the top of the standings, I'll be happy. But at the same time, if they don't finish high in the standings I won't be too upset. It's such an odd season. I'll take it as a sort of mulligan. And I'll just look at it as one more top draft pick. JMO.

So I’m caught between id love a first overall pick next year (was gonna be highly unlikely regardless) and wanting the new crop to show up and dominate 🤷🏻♂️
Admin
I think the fish will have a winning record this year and will make a run at a playoff spot. Call me crazy, because maybe I am. I just believe a 60 game slate favors a club like this.
EricOwens!
When's the last time we were tied for the division lead in late July? We should trade meyers for rodney and make a playoff push.

canada-marlin24
This is going to be the worst and more boring set of games in the history of baseball.

These 60 games are going to be all about strategy. 6 man rotations, starters coming in as relievers, universal DH (more offense), expanded rosters (potential for young talent to step up), etc. Seems like it'll be very interesting to say the least.

I disagree completely. Every game means more since there are only 60.

Yep - every game holds 2.7x the amount of weight it normally would. 33 wins = 89.1 in a normal 162. Let's go for 33.
