Maybe this team go the route of the Rays because they think it's best to the team.

Maybe this team go the route of the Rays because they just have no the choice.

Maybe this team would spend big when they're really competitive (then they don't need to spend big because they're already competitive ).

Maybe this team would never spend big.

The Rays were just in the World Series and have been one of the winningest teams of the last decade.

Maybe the Marlins really should go the route of the Rays.

I'd be pretty happy if they did.

Again, it isn't just this team. Most of MLB is very quiet this offseason so far. Teams and players are waiting to see if the season will start on time, how many games there will be, if there will be a DH, if some fans will be allowed in, etc.

Nobody is spending big because of Covid uncertainty

I should have said it like Eric, straight to the point. Thank you.

We're still going over this? Really? It's not even a joke anymore.

It's sad but it's true, the small market teams winning in the regular season (Ray's, Athletics Twins …), the big market teams winning in the playoffs (Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, Giants …).

That's pretty funny considering that the Giants are the only one of those four big-market teams you mentioned that have made any notable signings this offseason, and that's if you even count Kevin Gausman and Anthony DeSclafani as "notable." Even funnier is the fact that the Giants have stunk for the last six years.

Heck, we have been more active than the Yankees, who haven't won a World Series in over a decade.

Also, the Nationals, Astros and Royals have all won championships since 2015. I think it's safe to say that none of those clubs are "big-market" teams.

What's more, the Dodgers were perennial playoff chokers up until this year. Yes, they have made the playoffs eight years in a row, but they were bounced in each of the first seven years before finally winning a title, which was their first one since 1988 (the Marlins have won two since then lol).

No one is spending money right now because the entire freaking league lost money in 2020, and as others have already said, there is still significant uncertainty surrounding 2021.

You are being ridiculous.
