Yelich and Ozuna vs the Marlins

Can I just say one thing....

These players had chips on their shoulders because they were traded, and went to other organizations. I really don't think this team would have developed these SP properly in the Loria years... heck- they never did outside of Jose and Josh.

Most of their SP "Prospects" were from other teams who were close- Nolasco, Willis, Mitre, Sanchez, Alvarez just to name a few.

They couldn't develop for shit... just see Sean West, Scott Olsen, Vargas, Conley, Hand, Descalfani and all the dudes who failed here and succeeded elsewhere. Heck, look at Evoldi and Miller, once they got away from here, their careers became what everyone thought.

This team couldn't develop a pitching staff or prospect to save it's seasons and had to trade a prospect who had a decent ceiling for a Pitching Guru.

AND THEY STILL FAILED.

Paddack and Castillo is as much on Benedict as it is on Loria's regime.

Paddack and Castillo where developed in the minors by the marlins tho, and we all knew they were good before being traded, especially Paddack. I don't buy that they wouldnt be good in miami.

They were polished and graduated in the Reds and Padres systems. They while they were drafted here and played here, I don't see a single thing Loria's team would have done to make them the pitchers they are today.

The history of this team points otherwise.... they wouldn't have reached full potential until they left.

Castillo we got from the Giants for Casey McGehee. Just throwing that out there.

Paddack was clearly on a successful path in only 17 games with our system. Crazy really.

Paddack was another AJ Preller type of deal.

Trade away a big piece for someone you think might be really special in 3 + years.

Genius.  Too bad Mike Hill isnt fractionally as smart.

You mean the move AJ Preller made was an AJ Preller type of deal?  Wow, that's some great analysis there.

Okay, so who would win if Yelich, Ozuna, Paddack, and Realmuto played against the Marlins starting lineup with Urena pitching?

Infield: Christian Yelich

Outfield: Marcell Ozuna

Pitcher: Chris Paddack

Catcher: JT Realmuto

Lineup:

Realmuto

Paddack

Yelich

Ozuna

Realmuto

Paddack

Yelich

Ozuna

Realmuto

Again how many of those moves were made 100% because Loria said "do it" and not just letting Hill and co do their jobs?

Pretty sure all the ones we're talking about here are all but "confirmed" Loria forced moves.

Right. So we can't entirely blame Hill on those moves, I'd say. Someone would probably say "but he could have said no and made a different move" - Loria wasn't someone you said "no" to cause you'd lose your job, it seemed.

Is what it is. All in the past, it all sucks, and here we are.
