How this team to have a GOOD lineup ASAP ?

Recommended Posts

We seems have the good rotation and the good bullpen now, so how to have a good lineup ASAP to match with the good pitching ? we have no pitching in the past seasons so traded all the good hitters for the good pitchers, now we have the good pitching but without the good hitting, maybe need to sign or trade for some good veteran hitters if this team wants to compete in the near future.

Building through pitching is refreshing. It’s much easier to acquire bats than pitchers outside of your org (unless you’re making trades with the marlins). We also have the #4 pick in this years draft, and at worst a top 3 pick in the 2020 draft. This could produce 2 college bats that should climb the ranks relatively quickly.

We aren’t going to get much back for our vets (Grandy, Walker, Starlin, etc). However, if KKKKaleb keeps this up, there might be some great offers for him come July. If there’s a future impact bat or 3 included in that proposal, I would have a hard time saying no.

It would be difficult to decide who would be traded for the bats.

Can we trade Luis Castillo again for some bats?

And trade Paddack again.

I'd hold off on saying they have a good rotation and bullpen now - it's not atrocious like last year but it's far from "good".  They have a few nice pieces but it's not like the pitching is lights out night after night.  The bulk of the pitching staff is still pretty average/bad.  There are some guys doing well in the minors but they're still unproven too.

Yeah this is fair. I think it’s more about we finally have good organizational depth from a SP standpoint, rather than good quality arms at the big league level. It’s unrealistic to expect a team at this stage of the rebuild to have an above avg MLB rotation, but we are on the right track.

Rotation is looking somewhat decent - K-leb and Pablo looking really good, Richards has some improvements to make but his change-up is top tier so if he can get his fastball and slider command down he'll be really good, Sandy and Urena pitch an average of "OK."

Could be better, but hey, in due time, maybe.

If we trade for Ozuna, Yelich, Stanton and Trout... and somehow convince the Dodgers to give us Turner, Seager.... we could have a great lineup tomorrow.

But we'd have to give up all our prospects and pitching!
