SongInTheAir
Today, Marlins legend and surefire first ballot unanimous inductee into the Zac Gallen Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Harold Ramirez was claimed on waivers by the Cleveland Indians and awarded to the team with no compensation for the Marlins. The Marlins, again, have essentially gifted the greatest Marlin of all time to the Cleveland Indians and have not received anything in return.

Michael
Pretty shocking he passed through 25 or 26 other teams on waivers before Cleveland said "yeah ok sure."

You mean to tell me that 25 teams agreed with the Marlins belief that Harold Ramirez wasn't worthy of an MLB roster spot anymore?

My analysis has shown that the reason for this is because he is not very good at baseball.

My one goal in life is to be alive in the year 3018 just so that I can log on here and ask why after one hundred years Fangraphs still never bothered to write an elegy for the 2018 Marlins. Somebody in 3018 is going to discover that post in some internet archive when bored one day and then start researching fangraphs to see if one was ever done.

It will probably be taiwanmarlin's great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandson @taiwanrobotmarlin who will see that post and then look it up on fangraphs. Then he will return to robotmarlinsbaseball forums and make a new post about how frustrated he is that the Robot Marlins have not signed any free agent robots during the 3017-3018 offseason. @RobotSilverBullet will respond to his post and remind him that the Robot Marlins are in year 792 of the rebuild and restructure and to be patient.

Photo-Realistic Billy
This is truly a tough meme for me to understand. They published that elegy in September, so a whole month before the end of the season. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/elegy-for-18-miami-marlins/ What am I missing? I'm not one to explain a good joke but this one needs explaining for those that missed it... When that elegy was written someone made a thread about it here. A couple days later someone else mistakenly made another thread posting it. If I remember right there was actually a third thread made about it shortly thereafter! From there the joke became that everyone was oblivious to the article to the point where we acted as if Fangraphs never wrote it. That was years ago but it's still funny when someone remembers it and asks "Hey did they ever write an elegy for 2018?" 1
