Given his track record the last couple years, I can see a team going after Duvall for cheap as a bench bat and defensive replacement. Dickerson would be a harder sell, but that doesn't mean he can't be moved. Probably both would be only worth lotto picks at this point, though.

Addition by subtraction... just getting rid of them will help

This is the benchmark:

They should absolutely trade him. This team is not making the playoffs next year...what is the point of keeping him?

As @Rydawgpoints out...centerfielders who have already had an extended IL tour this year...don't keep getting better.

Love that the Giants and Red Sox have come back into relevancy and the Miami Flounders are back to debating what a firesale is.

Because at some point you need to have good players and not continually be rebuilding? (despite what the owners want)

What is the point of keeping him? Do you really think the Marlins have a better chance to make the playoffs in the next 3 years if they trade or keep their best player. They have more than enough money to extend him and we are probably screwed anyway if they don't. The pitching is good enough to put them into contention, how long do you think that window will last. They need to ADD offense, not subtract.

This does not look like a team that is making the playoffs this year or next...

By year three...is Marte...at 34/35...the same player?

So...what is the point of keeping him?

The rotation next year could be Sandy/Trevor/Pablo + pick 2 of Sixto/Elieser/Poteet/Cabrera/Meyer/Eder.

The starting pitching is good enough, the problem is the hitting. Why not keep some good hitters?

Who are we getting for Marte? The next Monte Harrison?

Isan Diaz leading off the 8th.

Maybe we can another prospect like him in a trade for Marte.

See? 1B for Isan. This guy is a stud. Not even a lefty can contain him.
