It’s definitely odd to hear since that feels so “football” but it’s 100% a good thing.

lmao and rewatching it just now I heard the announcer say “automatic first down” so I’m not the only one.

It certainly does feel football, but I'm also not sure how else you're going to say what they found after reviewing it

I also really hope they get in-depth with the explanation and will differentiate between a call that was confirmed vs a call that just couldn’t be overturned due to a lack of “clear and convincing evidence”

I doubt we'll get that

In Manfred's "pace of play" era, you think they're going to take 3 more seconds to explain?

Seriously though, they don't explain what they saw in any other major sports' reviews, they just say call stands, confirmed, or overturned along with whatever challenge loss or in baseball's case perhaps runner placement, so I don't expect much beyond that, even if it'd be nice.

No obviously there’s no other way to say it, I’m just saying the entire thing feels like a football referee mainly because that’s been the only frame of reference.

And I don’t really need an explanation just going far enough as to differentiate between the play being Confirmed (they saw the evidence that it did) or the call simply “standing” (they didn’t see anything to point it one way or another) so it’s just one word difference really.

I mean they did that before, differentiating between confirmed/stands/overturned, so I don't know why they wouldn't do that when announcing it.
