SilverBullet
Brewers are considering Don Mattingly to be their manager. So, same thing as tanking.

Daddy Dix
Does this move the Brewers up the chart as a potential dupe...err trade partner to unload the Avi contract then? Note: there are no teams on the current chart
Das Texan
They will still beat the St. Louis Cardinals if the DeWitts are still going to be fucking cheap though.
mystikol87
It's a shame they'll no longer have Craig's counsel

SongInTheAir
It would be a lot of fun to watch Mattingly mismanage another team. 1
UpperDeckFishTank
He's returning to blue jays as bench coach and expanded role of 'offensive coordinator'.

He's had that offensive coordinator role for a while already because I was often offended by his role on the Marlins.

Admin
Quote The Astros are trying to keep bench coach Joe Espada from interviewing with the Brewers for their managerial opening until they decide on who will replace Dusty Baker. Espada is a candidate for both jobs. The oddity here is that, as The Athletic’s Chandler Rome reports, Espada’s contract with the Astros expired on Oct. 31, allowing him to do whatever he’d like. Yet GM Dana Brown still said Tuesday that the Brewers were being denied permission to interview in Milwaukee. -RotoWorld What a dick move. Imagine then they don't hire him as manager again.
Michael
I'd say I'd resign if I was him then but they don't have contract rights to him right now, so, uh, just go interview with the Brewers, dude.
SilverBullet
How can they deny him if he's not under contract? Anyways if Espada doesn't get the Astros gig he needs to get out of there immediately. He's been heralded as a future manager for so long but never gets hired but then the excuse is that he'll get the Houston spot so if not that then he needs to run. Yeah, not sure how they can do that if his contract expired 10/31 - they can "try" all they want, but past that date, he can do whatever he wants, no? 52 minutes ago, SilverBullet said: How can they deny him if he's not under contract? Yeah, he's been passed over a few times now.
