Valid
$325 million for a guy who has never thrown a pitch in the MLB. I know he was dominant in Japan, but sheesh that seems nuts.
mk613
Baseball is broken. Salary cap needed
Admin
Good for him and good for the Dodgers. Wish every team could be more like them or even a little like them.

What is needed is a bunch of owners not acting like they are in poverty when they aren't.

SilverBullet
Alright this is a little unfair. I'm not saying we need a salary cap and I agree with admin that other owners need to step up but on a matter of principle, it's just like oh come on that's fucked up. SilverBullet
Crazy to think Jordan Yamamoto changed his first name and ended up signing this huge contract after he was so bad in previous years.

rmc523
Not that I ever expected us to sign him, but it's sad when a single team is getting everyone. As others have said, other owners stepping up and spending money would be nice.

Good for their fanbase though. Must be nice. I think we'll finally see an non-depth signing around the 5-10th of January. 2024....to clarify

Das Texan
Dodgers gonna Dodger. This is largely made possible by the lax luxury tax rules the essentially enabled the Dodgers to do this. Insane contract, guess we will see if the Dodgers do finally win one in a non shortened season for the first time since 1988.
Das Texan
Oh and yes, the other ownership groups need to quit crying poverty when this is a system they enabled and were very much behind. Plus none of them are actaully hurting for a dime.

Admin
If he is as good as he is hyped up to be, he'll opt out unless it is heavily backloaded Stanton style. "Somewhat backloaded" is hard to decipher.

SilverBullet
I know a girl who I'd call "somewhat backloaded".
