March 26Mar 26 Author The biggest constant last year was Tanner Scott closing out games for the Marlins. Scott is long gone, trade to the Padres along with journeyman Bryan Hoeing for some promising prospects and since moved on to the Dodgers Dynasty through free agency. The Marlins do feature some promising pitchers on the younger side of 30 that rotated closing games. Calvin Faucher and Anthony Bender are the de facto closers although the opportunities may be few and far beween. Jesus Tinoco was a solid pickup and George Soriano and Declan Cronin were a bit up and down. A few of these pitchers will get pushed to long relieft but the core is solid and young with room to grow. The minors feature some promising flame throwers. Laurbert Arias was solid in AAA although he had a horrific spring. Austin Roberts is a fringe prospect and John Rooney should provide depth. Beneath those a plethora of Marlins draft picks look to separate themselves from the pack including Tyler Eckberg, Matt Pushard, Xavier Meacham and Josh Ekness. Woo-Suk Go came over with some promise but needs to improve from the dumpster fire performance of last year. There's a few promising arms in the Dominican (Fernandez, Delacruz, Serrata) but they are all years away, if ever.
March 26Mar 26 This team does not have a closer. Just a bunch of revolving door type AAAA guys that may get the occasional shot at "closing" a game.43-119
