What exactly is being done with the $70 million plus that the Marlins receive annually in revenue sharing? Tell your fans in detail; that, too, is really the least you can do. What you shouldn’t do is tell the fan base what you said in November, when you lamented how “we have tens of millions of dollars going into the front office that you don’t necessarily see; nobody talks about it. Everybody talks about free agents.” What you shouldn’t do is assert, without any supporting evidence, as you did in February, that “we’re going to win a lot more games than you think we will.” What you shouldn’t do is brag about having the second-biggest weight room in the sport.

Probably they’re gonna have a picture hanging on the wall of @SongInTheAir post where he predicted that they will only win 9 games in 2025 and when they finish 53-109 they will be like “see we won a lot more games than people thought we would.”

Yeah he pretty much articulated what so many of us have been saying now for a long time but especially over the past year or so. 😮

Well.. a lot of Sports fans have a ton of optimism.. especially at the beginning of the season which causes them to temporarily ignore logical thinking.

Somehow in some people’s minds it kind of feels like a clean slate from the previous year and all teams will start with an 0-0 record so hypothetically speaking there is always a chance that any team has the possibility to have an amazing, even surprising season and shock everyone and make the playoffs unexpectedly. Usually after like a month or so reality will settle in and fans will begin to lower their expectations when they realize that their team will definitely not make the playoffs. I think last year it was on the day the Marlins traded Arraez and they had a 9-24 record. Probably a lot of people were deep down inside thinking “yep.. another losing season.”

But you know.. even though lately I have been making a lot of posts here with my predictions of 100+ loss season which I think is an actual realistic possibility seeing all the factors in place.

I still for a minute might feel a little bit of that crazy optimism on opening day. The same optimism I used to have back in the 2005-2010 years with the good teams on the field and really feeling like anything is possible at the start of the season. 😂

If, in fact, Sherman doesn’t have the money to spend on a payroll topping the current $47 million - and if his ownership partners tell him they don’t want him asking them for their money - Marlins fans deserve to know. (The original Sherman/Derek Jeter investment documents in 2016, obtained by The Miami Herald, said there would be no cash calls with the team’s minority owners, of which there are believed to be at least 15. But Sherman has always declined to discuss or verify that publicly, as if it would jeopardize national security.) If Sherman’s master plan is to save money now by fielding by far the cheapest team in the sport, but squirreling away cash to spend when some of these prospects are big-league ready and the team is closer to contention, tell your fan base. It’s really the least you can do.

I agree with the article's overall message......but that said, I wouldn't even believe this line either, because they said that when they bought the team, and absolutely refused to spend anything after 2 different playoff years. If those aren't times to spend more/add players, when is?

Also, it's annoying that media is only waking up now.......this has been an issue for years now under Bruce, but I guess better late than never.

I think the plan to hire daddy dix and nuke the team until 2028 was put in motion before 2023. The wrench in those plans was Ng orchestrated some beautiful trades in 2023 and got the team to the playoffs so dix and co had to pretend like he wasn’t there to completely nuke the team and bring payroll down to minuscule levels. The way dix/sherman have presented all this (lying, condescension, defensive) has really put my fandom for this team at the lowest point it’s been.

I don't believe a word they say at this point. I gave them a benefit of the doubt when they came in, and went along with the initial rebuild process, but blowing it up after some success and then trying to pretend like they are spending, when they have 1/3+ of their payroll going to people not on the team, while still trying to peddle the line of "spend when it's time"..........yeah sure....

Just wait until they sign some trash to a 3yr 8mil per deal just to say FA didn't work out and thus they can't keep going the FA route again - I feel like they might deliberately sign some trash because it's cheaper to sign one dude they know will be garbage and thus be permitted to keep blowing it up every three years or so and blaming their "FA forays" and how it doesn't work. Basically paying a small amount to continue the lie and take in the revenue sharing money

Ive never been more disgusted and more into cheering the whole franchise gets burned to the fking ground than now. I hope every prospect fails miserably, Sandy and X get traded, and nobody at all shows up to the games. Whatever it takes to get that POS to sell...that's what misery will have to be endured. For christakes I don't even see the farm team ranked in the top half of MLB and I've seen it as low as 23rd for all the "top prospects" we've gotten back.
