1. Record profits? It's a good thing they received additional subsidies in the last spending bill. [/sarcasm]

More PC Stupidity

What the coach said was stupid and inappropriate. I don't think it was racist, but it was inappropriate. That being said, I do think the title of this thread is stupid and inappropriate too.
3. Join Netflix! Otherwise, I'd recommend Scarface, Godfather 1&2, Better Off Dead, Blazing Saddles, and Caddyshack.
4. It doesn't matter what you think about the war or the president, liberals have been counting down to 2,000 for a few months now anticipating the day it inevitably happened and the fact that an entire main stream political party is exploiting the death's of 2,000 American's is truly pathetic. How sad that this is what your distorted perception of reality is. The truth is that those who count these lives lament the loss of life, while those (like the hawks who supported this war based on false pretense) continue to minimize the impact. Honor those who have honorably served and given their lives for this country, they are not numbers and should not be treated as such. The differences between a republican and a democrat in times like this are quite apparent and the liberals sure as hell aren't doing anything to reverse that nasty anti-American stigma that hangs over each and every one of their heads. Another crock. You chastise liberals for not doing anything to reverse the nasty anti-American stigma while totally ignoring what caused it to begin with, namely the failed conservative approach to foreign policy.
5. On your point about judicial contributions, maybe the justices you mentioned gave contributions to political causes maybe they did not BUT i doubt while they were hearing a case about an issue they donated money chosing sides on the issue so close to actually hearing the issue...Move on has been pretty clear about their dislike (putting it mildly) of DeLay so in this case i dont see the problem in changing judges could be a democrat or republican as long as they have not donated to groups pro or anti delay Do you even know WHEN this contribution was made? The judge made the contribution to moveon.org to help Kerry over Bush. His contribution had absolutely nothing to do with DeLay.
6. Mazzone was only making around $165,00 with the Braves, he could be tripling his salary with the Orioles.
7. hold on now, not so fast.... ST. LOUIS, Oct. 19 -- Though it appears the Baltimore Orioles were close to a deal to land Atlanta Braves pitching coach Leo Mazzone, talks hit a snag Wednesday that could delay his hiring or temporarily suspend negotiations. The Braves, according to one baseball source, are asking the Orioles for a prospect in return for Mazzone, whose contract with Atlanta expires Nov. 15. The Orioles could try to sign Mazzone after that date, but it could allow the New York Yankees -- who dropped efforts to sign Mazzone on Wednesday -- back into contention.

Girls F'in suck

Dude, you have to take the optimistic view of this situation. So she wasn't into you, big deal. It's much better to have learned this after one date than after 6 months of courtship - with lots of $ spent on dinners, gifts, etc. Not to mention time and emotional investment. Let it go and realize you are better off - time to move onto the next fish in the big ocean.
9. How many posts can you go without using the word liberal to attack something accord? Why is 'liberal' offensive? "liberal" in of itself isn't offensive - blaming everything on "liberals" or "liberal spin" is. An analogy would be if the political corruption was closely associated with Conservatives.
10. The fact that this interaction was staged shouldn't be a shock to anyone - it's standard operating procedure. What is an outrage, is that WH Press Secretary, Scott McClellan denied that it was staged.

Golf tips

I would also suggest investing in a lob wedge. It's become one of my favorite clubs...I just have to learn how to cut down on my 3-putts.
12. The Democrats suck. I don't understand why they're sitting back and letting Bush's base do most of the attacking. This is a serious issue and they need start making some noise. The Dems are actually playing this pretty smart. Many of the attacks on Meirs is coming from the conservative base. If the Dems criticize Meirs, Republicans will probably be forced to stand up and defend her. By taking a more reserved approach, they also appear to be more open-minded and less radical.
13. Hollywood needs to turn this into a movie and have Arnold play the role of Cpl. Craft. With approval ratings in the low 30's, he'll certainly have plenty of time for new projects after the next election. :whistle
14. This is an true example of an "activist judge"
15. Ummmm... The same thing can be said for weed. It's ILLEGAL, and yet people still smoke it. There's magazines about it. There's a whole trade for it. There are doods dealing it. There are shady guy growing it and selling it on the market. Same problem(s). 951351 Not at all. In moderation, alcohol can aid one's health. The same cannot be said for marijuana (at least for normal, healthy individuals). If you were to substitute cigarettes for alcohol, then I'd see your point and agree with you. Your comment about driving drunk is relevant, except that's a situation where alcohol is abused and not used in moderation. One could abuse sleeping pills or cough medicine with similar results.
16. I'd rather people smoke pot than drink alchohol. It just seems hypocritical to allow beer, etc. to be legal and have pot be illegal. 948647 There are studies that show that for healthy people, alcohol (in moderation) is beneficial to your health. I don't think the same can be said for either pot or cigarettes.
17. I can see the points being made by both Passion and Tealfish. For white Southerners (I count myself one. Born and raised G-ville, FL) the Confederate battle flag contains the meaning of heritage/better times/good ole' days/etc. Black people, and especially black Southerners see that flag as a symbol of hate/oppression/terror/lynching and with very, very good reason. Many horrible things were done in the name of that flag long after the Civil War was ended at the App. Courthouse. 948137 But for some people for whom the confederate flag is reminiscent of "better times/good ole' days" harken to the period where there were slaves. For some, those good ole' days came at the expense of others. As Passion notes, the confederate flag has been contorted by some to represent racism, where I disagree is that the assertion that it doesn't. It might not to all Southerners or even all white/black people - but it does to some.
18. No one has ever died from Marijuana, pot doesnt kill brain cells, pot doesnt cause birth defects, pot doesnt cause high blood pressure, pot doesnt effect the immune system, it doesnt cause cell damage. 948201 An inaccurate statement I believe, as lung cancer can be contracted via smoking marijuana.
19. "The insurgency is in its' final throes" - Dick Cheney 947031 That's a misquote; Dick Cheney is smart enough to not misuse apostrophes. 948479 But too dumb/dishonest to assess the situation in Iraq?
20. "The insurgency is in its' final throes" - Dick Cheney
21. I thought Bush didnt pay attention to the polls. :mischief2 943594 He does when they're dangerously low with elections a year away. :mischief2 943603 I think it's more dramatic than that. With his current poll numbers, his ability to make any headway on his legislative agenda is diminished.
22. After all the extra expenses Huizenga charged them for, the Marlins barely saw any money from the 2003 postseason, how the hell are they going to lose $20-30 by missing the postseason? $20-30M in revenue, MAYBE, but net margin?!? Get the hell out of here, Gammons and your source. 942392 I'm guessing that also factors in advertising, jerseys, pennants, etc.
23. We'll see who's laughing in January. :plain 929757 Bump! I think everyone who's seen your prediction of the Jets winning the AFC East and going to the Superbowl will be laughing. Care to revise your outlook after today's drubbing?
24. Yeah I need proof to know that these poor people didint have cars or money, I mean they only lived in what, one of the poorest neighborhoods in America? 98% black? 40% making less than 8,000 a year? *rolleyes* 936603 link ''Who should expect a little town in Louisiana with 400,000 people, one-third of the town living below the poverty level, 100,000 people using public transportation every day, limited healthcare -- who should expect them to lead in a national disaster?" asked the City Council president, Oliver Thomas. ''That's ludicrous." I'll assume if they're taking public transportation daily - they won't have vehicles of their own.
25. All of that crap is descredited every day. That's why the Dems are losing more and more power every day. Most Americans see through all of this even though it's all the media feeds them daily. Keep on going where your going, to the Kanye West school of political oratory and I'll be laughing my ass off. 938202 Yes, America indeed is seeing through all the crap. (from pollingreport.com) Newsweek Poll conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International. Sept. 8-9, 2005. N=1,009 adults nationwide. MoE ? 3. .
