July 19, 200422 yr Forget Ken Jennings and beating jeopardy with his own knowledge. This guy beat Press your luck on their carelessness and he took full advantage of this. I'm a big fan of snopes and have read some of their stories countless times but didn't catch this one until today. http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/whammy.htm This guy beat The famous 80's Game show Press your luck(I still love to watch old episoded on The GSN) by realizing that the patterns on the board for the prizes always went in the same way or pattern and no one had caught on. So he taped countless episodes and studied every episode memorizing the patterns for the top prizes and where each whammy was for all the different situations. They had about three different patterns and no one could ever catch on and this man memorized how and where each prize and whammy would be for every spin and how they changed it up. When he got on there, he racked up the most winnings ever on that show all in less than an hour and The Execs soon realized what he was doing but couldn't stop it because he wasn't technically doing anything wrong. He forced Press to enact a 70,000 max for earnings on the show because of him and had to overhaul their system. This man however quickly blew through his winnings and two years later is now working as an assistant manager at a wal mart. I was shocked by that because anyone clever enough and observant enough to pull something like that off has to have some skills.
July 19, 200422 yr Author That's cool stuff Is that Jennings guy still on Jeopardy? 464432[/snapback] Yes, still going strong and over 1 mil. Look at a picture of Ed Wade and then look at Jennings :plain One's an idiot GM and The Other's a genius.
