Conservative Andrew Sullivan on Miller

Featured Replies

Andrew Sullivan, a senior editor at The New Republic and a highly regarded blogger, noted the contrast between the Boston Dem?s keynoter, Barak Obama ? ?a post-racial, smiling, expansive young American? ? and the Republicans?. ?Then you see Zell Miller, his face rigid with anger, his eyes blazing with years of frustration as his Dixiecrat vision became slowly eclipsed among the Democrats. Remember who this man is: once a proud supporter of racial segregation, a man who lambasted LBJ for selling his soul to the negroes.?

I don't think supporting racial segregation is "the stupidest thing" but if you're going to complain about this, no one's keeping you around against your will.

Are you kidding me. Here, look at the first part of the thread where chewbacca, cfdodgemarlin, capefish, juanky, fishtankfrenzy, and tealmonster posts anti democratic crap. One of which puts the face of Osama Bin Laden as wanting you to vote democrat. You sit idley by while they have the audicity to say a horribley evil man likes democrats but when I post the views of a conservative columnists who didnt like what Miller said it becomes bashing?

How about this crap describing why people would vote Kerry:

Because I'm a terrorist sympathising, gay-marriage wanting, Michael Moore loving, draft dodging, pot-smoking, religion-hating, CNN watching, socialist worshipping Democrat.

Is that ok? You and accord get all pissed off when people post stuff that has some foundation for argument behind it. Please tell me when ANY democrats or liberals on this board have ever ever ever said anything as vociferous as the above? I really would like to know. And I dont wanna hear any "its a joke stuff" because some conservatives on this board feel that way.

Other conservatives on here, or at least libertarians, like tonyi and nc marlin have posted articles or opinions which make Kerry look bad or predict bad things for Kerry. Or they will put stuff that goes against liberals or democrats views. That is in no way liberal bashing. Ill disagree with it and view it as whatever. But I wont have the nerve to call it liberal bashing.

But in the end I think Ive figured it out. Its simple. If people put substanative stuff that critisizes your political view, its bashing. Im sure this primarily has to do with your shock that people would not fall lock in step with your political views. Which is why you never actuall respond to it. That comports well with the open and notorious bashing od liberals and democrats that is enganged here. I guess thats ok because that is not your politial view. Can I take that to be correct?
