This much we know:

Tuesday - Burnett

After that one would think we'd want to give Pavano the ball as much as possible and Valdez the least until the end of the season.

By starting Pavano Wednesday and Willis Thursday, Beckett and Valdez Friday we can use Burnett and Pavano on 3 days rest against the Cubs Saturday and Sunday. I wouldn't want to do that to an oft-injured Burnett, but if we don't and keep to 4 days of rest throughout the season we'll end up starting our 6th starter against the Cubs twice. And we can ill avoid to give up these games against our wild card foes.

By skipping the 6th starter twice and going on short rest (this weekend, and the week of the 20th) we can give Burnett, Pavano, Willis and Beckett 6 starts. That would give us a one-two punch in Burnett and Pavano in the NLDS. If necessary, Pavano would available on full rest for a possible one-game playoff on October 4th, and Burnett able to start the next day in game 1 of the NLDS.

Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe what I heard is that Beckett will start tomorrow, Valdez on Thursday, Pavano and Kensing on Friday and Willis on Saturday. Also, I heard that Willis is available out of the bullpen tonight and tomorrow.

Yep, you're right. Says Beckett and Valdez on the MLB.com's probable list.

That probably means we'll be starting Kensing/6th starter twice against the Cubs, Pavano twice and the others once. And AJ twice and the other four once against the Braves.
