October 2, 200422 yr Bill Frist's bed buddy is engaging in this lowly crap. Id like to hear a defense of this. The Daschle-Thune Senate race in South Dakota has a great example of push polling. Read this to get an idea of what a truly biased survey is like. The below text was released in a press release from the Daschle committee accusing the those supporting Thune of engaging in push polling. "This is a 45 second public survey by the American Auctioneers. Do you intend to vote this coming election? ... In America when a person dies, the estate left for family and friends is taxed. Are you in favor of permanently eliminating the death tax? ... If your choices for Senator are Republican John Thune or Democrat Tom Daschle, will you be voting for John Thune?" If you answer YES: "If you knew that John Thune has consistently supported the permanent elimination of the death tax, would that make you more likely to vote for him?" If you answer NO: "Will you be voting for Tom Daschle? ... If you knew that Tom Daschle has consistently opposed the permanent elimination of the death tax, would that make you less likely to vote him for him?" Conclusion: "Do you consider yourself to be a Republican? ... Concerning other taxes, would you prefer to have your taxes not raised and if possible cut? ... On the issue of abortion, do you consider yourself to be pro-life? ... Do you agree that only marriage between one man and one woman should be legal and binding in America? ... Do you support the United States efforts in Iraq? ... Are you male? ... Have you ever contributed to or financially supported a political campaign or a religious or non profit organization? ... Thank you for your time and views. Over many years as an auctioneer I have seen the devastation that the death tax has caused South Dakota farmers and families. Trust me, the permanent elimination of the cruel death tax matters. Thank you again. This survey was paid for by the American Family Business Institute and was not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee". http://www.race2004.net
