He acted on his fantasies. The DPRK is obviously sabre rattling to extort bribes/aid. There's nothing "whacko" at all about the DPRK's actions. All perfectly logical (within their own constrained belief system). Communist doctrine makes it impossible for them to conceive that someone might be willing to help them out without being coerced to do so. He also kidnapped South Korean actors and kept them captive for many years and made them make movies about him. He loves himself. Plus that crossing guard stuff creeps me out. Then there are the children starving to death and he cares more about people not knowing about it. He is pretty bad.
