Personal Experiences and Politics

This is something I've been pondering for a while, those who when they have an experience of their own on one issue will effect their entire position. What's your opinion on that issue.

Case in point, I see girls in my school who have a gay friend all of a sudden turn to support for Gay Marriage because the fact that he's gay and will use that they have friends who are gay as an example for support. Big freaking deal, I have friends and a family member who is homosexual, is that supposed to change me on an entire position? You accept those as they are and look to if they are a good person to decide if you should assoiate with them. What the hell does the fact that they are gay have to do with your support on the issue, just because you find them as a good person means you must throw away a belief of your own to try to accomidate them to the max.

My father has a lung and a half due to a mistake in open heart surgery, he can not get out anymore and is done with ever doing physical activity because of it. Is a doctor's incompetence the reason I'm against Caps. No, I'm against caps because their one of the few defenses a patient has against bad doctors at least in PA with no governing board for these doctors.

I just don't get why people will change or base an entire belief on what happened to them. This is a country full of millions of people who all have needs, because we know someone who's been effected by any issue. We are supposed to base an entire belief for all Americans around one person.

It's just my two cents but come on. Base your opinions on what you feel is best for all not your friend from school.

This seems trivial in light of your more serious personal experiences and family crisis, but it's one that affects us all to some degree.

The goverment takes a little under 30 percent of my income already. If that isn't enough cash to run an effective government then too bad. THe government can't create aprogram to help everyone all the time, and even if they did I'm sick of paying for it.
