My friends....another reason why i love my city......This morning at 7:30 am, WingBowl 13 was held at a SOLD OUT Wachovia Center during which they actually had to turn away thousands of people at the doors. People arrived at 6:30 pm two nights ago to wait in line for this momentous event....

 

What is it you ask? It is a contest held between 20 large ladies and gentlemen and wing eating contest featuring the hottest women in Philadelphia as the people counting them eat those wings. This contest started in a simple hotel 13 years ago as a way for the hopeless Eagles fans to at least have some joy on Super Bowl Weekend with the premise being that if we ever did make the super bowl, then it would be a remarkable event. The event is run in three rounds, two 15 minute rounds during which it is cut to 10 then 5...then the last five people have 5 minutes. Then a champion is supposed to be crowned only this year, there was a tie which led to another 2 minutes.

 

The winner was El Wingador aka Bill Simmons (not the Boston Sports Guy) who ate 161 wings over Sonia Thomas aka the Black Widow who ate 160. Thomas is a lightweight chinese woman who has no gag reflex and won last year.

 

I'm posting the website for y'all to peruse. WingBowl In order to get into the event, you have to do some outrageous eating stunts which you will see down on the bottom...Please tell me your favorites and the ones that you think you can do. Please check this out and tell me what you think.
