Joey Styles Commentary Info

The general backstage reaction to Joey Styles work at the ECW PPV is positive, which is likely a duality of his natural ability and the fact that he was heavily coached before going on the air. Paul Heyman produced Styles from backstage, and Jim Ross gave the announcer a few pointers before going on the air. This likely helped Styles format his commentary to WWE's style.

Over the past few years, WWE has turned away from hiring wrestling fans as announcers and moved in the direction of guys who are as cut out for sportscasting as they are for WWE. However, many feel Styles is a breath of fresh air as someone whose style indicates a true love for the business.
