July 1, 200521 yr Radio and Records just posted the second Spring book for this year. WQAM (mainly because of the Marlins being on nightly) is way ahead of 790 The Ticket. 560 WQAM vs. 790 WAXY Spring Book #1: 2.2 v. 0.9 Spring Book #2: 1.8 v. 0.8 Looks like the Marlins made the right move financially to stay with WQAM. 790's Dolphins Radio Network is in shambles right now as it has no affiliates signed for the upcoming season and a contractual obligation to find an FM station to put the Dolphins on in Miami. The Marlins continue to sail past Spring and into Summer.

It is expected that Jefferson-Pilot's 101.5 Lite FM or Majic 102.7 will get a shot since 790 is owned by J-P and leased to The Ticket....but that is never for sure. As far as WQAM goes, it has been almost a year (around August 2004 was sign-on for The Ticket) and WAXY's ratings are nothing. WQAM had ratings pretty soon after it launched sports in 1995. That is why WIOD is currently doing news and not sports anymore. This is actually not a new race, back when music was on AM radio, 560 WQAM used to beat down 790 WFUN in the ratings.
