Guest markotsay7
How often does a team lead the league in batting average and not make the playoffs? Do any of you junior statisticians know, or can you find out?
rferry
I'd imagine not often, but it should be pointed out that average ranks behind a number of other batting statistics in their corollation to runs scored (not to mention winning percentage). Guest markotsay7
Oh I know. I'm just curious...I would think it wouldn't happen that often. Anyone?
Guest Moneyball
2001 Colorado Rockies. In 2000 the Rockies, Indians and Royals did it. It happens every 3 or 4 years actually.
