August 5, 200322 yr Okay so its preseason. Okay the game was delayed. But what you can evaluate with certainty are the starters. Favre was Favre did a great job. Ahman Green was good too. The OLine was pathetic, but thats because the Packers 2 starting Tackles (Clifton and Tauscher) were sitting out as precautions and Favre was running around like a wild goose and was sacked a few times. But that shouldnt be a worry once Clifton and Tauscher are back. The WRs were shaky. But Driver and Ferguson sat out. Walker dropped 2 or 3 balls to many, but made a sensational 24 yd. catch. And showed flashes of what he will turn into this year or next. So without Driver and Ferguson we can't truly evaluate. The DLine was good. But Gilbert Brown is still shaking off some rust from missing camp for contract reasons. Gilbert and Cletidus could have been better. But they will get back to form by regular season starting. KGB was great (you all know who KGB is, if not see my sig), Joe Johnson looked sturdy and shook off the rust from missing most of last year with a triceps injury. Now heres the part I get excited about. Nick Barnett, remember the name. If the kid continues to improve like he has, hes gonna be the next Urlacher. But this is only preseason, take it with a grain of salt. But against the highest scoring offense from last year, he was flying around running, he has DB speed, making big hits, stopping plays that would have been 12 yds+ and making them 2-3 yds. Navies and Diggs also made plays. If the LB's keep this up they'll be in good shape and the Defense will be a great unit then. Because the secondary we know is great. The Packers had the 2nd ranked pass defense in all the league last year behind only Tampa Bay. And they improved the secondary (which is the scary part). If it weren't for numbers you couldn't tell Al Harris and Mike McKenzie apart. The dreadlocks. The hard hits. And the dreadlocks. McKenzie and Harris shut down the Chiefs. Harris and McKenzie are arguably the 2 most physical corners anywhere in the league. And they showed it today. Al Harris LEVELED Trent Green and made some tackles and knocked some passes away. McKenzie LEVELED Johnny Morton, knocked some passes away and made some tackles. Darren Sharper though he didn't play is unquestionably the best Safety in the game with more Tackles, Sacks, and INT's in the last 4 years then any other safety in football. And if Antwan Edwards stays healthy he should be good. But Marques Anderson the hard hitting safety who was a rookie last year should be more mature and snags plenty of INT's. The Packers should easily have one of the 3 Best Secondaries in the League again. Especially with depth like Bryant Westbrook, Bwaoh Jue, Erwin Sweeney, Jeremy Unertl, and Chris Johnson. Antonio Chatman was great in a KR/PR role. Even though he is from the Arena league. There the field is 50 yds and everybodies flying to get you. And he set a KR/PR record there. And this year with a twice as big field, the guy has more room to roam and is already showing his quick instinct. As to who gets cut, it remains to be seen. Right now I'd look for the obvious ones whose own mothers dont even know their names. But this is the preseason, take it with a grain of salt. But the Packers offense didn't show anything to the Chiefs because they face eachother come October.
